Description
This rare and sculptural Kaamoskivi candle holder, officially titled “Kaamoskivi Art Kynttelikkö Kuusihaarainen,” is a celebrated design by Anu Pentik, founder of Finland’s iconic Pentik Studio. First created in the 1970s, the Kaamoskivi embodies the raw, elemental energy of Lapland’s arctic wilderness, blending natural materials and expressive form in a truly Nordic modern statement piece.
Handcrafted from ceramic infused with sand collected from the shores of Lake Kitkajärvi, each Kaamoskivi is one-of-a-kind. Its rounded, organic “lump-like” shape—often likened to a Boston cake—and deep cobalt blue glaze give it a grounded yet sculptural presence. Designed to hold six candles, this model (kuusihaarainen) is both functional and deeply atmospheric, evoking the soft glow of polar night.
An enduring symbol of Finnish craft and landscape, the Kaamoskivi remains a beloved collectible from the Golden Age of Finnish design.
